I had the pleasure of attending the Third Annual Laugh Out Loud Twin Cities benefiting Gillette’s Children’s Hospital this past weekend and it held up to it’s name, that is for sure. Emmy winning News Anchor, Chris Egert was our host of the evening, what a great job he did keeping the evening going. Auctioneer, Glen Fladeboe was exciting to watch, so exciting that I left there with a very nice gift for someone in my family. I also had the pleasure of seeing one of my mother’s beautiful pieces of art auctioned for a sum that will no doubt provide resources for something important to the hospital. I know she is pleased to have her art be something that provides an opportunity to give back. Following the live Auction came the main event. Which left me in absolute tears. No, not sad tears my tears were from laughing so hard at David Spade’s stand up. I met David before the show and I can see why he is one of Hollywood’s most delightful bachelors. How can you not be smitten with his dry sense of humor and wit? I am still wondering if he found his luggage!
Following his set was the Punch Line After Party with the unbelievably talented Minnesota Nanny turned Rocker, Kat Perkins. Kat may have gotten her big break on NBC’s “The Voice” but touring with Bon Jovi and the Foo Fighters have made her a Bona Fide Glam Rock Star. My friends Lori and Julia from FM107 radio have said they thought she looked like my younger sister so I just had to meet her and while that was flattering to say the least, what I really enjoyed was hearing Kat’s story and genuine pride for inspiring kids to pursue their dreams. Kat is beautiful on the inside and out. We are lucky to call her a Minnesotan!
From the beautiful dance of Alexis, a Gillette patient, to the moving videos on patients of Gillette to the sold out crowd I was beyond impressed with the Laugh out Loud event. My table of good friends had a fantastic time and we are all going to make this event a tradition every year.

From the staff of Gillette to the Host Committee and the lovely Chairperson, Maddie Mauer the event was so much more then Laughing out Loud. I hope you all mark your calendars for next year, I sure am!
